Growing Pizza Perfection pictures!
On Thursday 10th August the sun shined and we enjoyed our first ever Inspired to Grow workshop!
During the afternoon a local group of 12 -1 8 year olds joined us on the farm to see wheat growing in the fields, to hear about how soil health and biodiversity is important to our food production, and how reducing waste and composting is beneficial, they helped plant and grow vegetables in our polytunnel and learn about the benefits of heritage varieties followed by pizza making in the dairy.

Each of the participants took home a planting kit with seeds, instructions and recipes – inspired to try new things at home, or so we hope!
Inspired to Grow is our new growing project, helped with funding from Heart of Bucks, which aims to build confidence in young people and communities to have fun sustainably growing diverse and nourishing varieties of heritage plants, and to explore the important connection between fungi, soil and biodiversity. By having the opportunity to grow and learn about fruit and vegetables, we also hope to have a positive impact on both people’s physical and mental wellbeing.
We hope to hold more Inspired to Grow workshops monthly, find out more here: Future Inspired to Grow sessions.
